Supports the manufacturing team by maximizing plant uptime and provides support for all facility systems in a safe manner, while contributing to corporate, plant, and departmental goals.

Trouble shoot control systems containing proxes, photo eyes, and limit switches.

Performs maintenance tasks involving troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and installations of equipment and production electrical systems with minimal supervision or direction.

Understands PLC control (preferably AB PLC5), conduit and wiring skills including termination, experience with MCC's.

Design layout and installation of basic electrical controls.

Strong mechanical maintenance type duties involve equipment repair and replacement of current machine components and the installation of electrical components.

Maintain electrical systems for the production plant, the mill, conveyors, and the office buildings.

Read and interpret blueprints and schematics, ladder logic.

Prioritize tasks to minimize downtime.

Posses a solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA70E and NFPA70B and be able to apply their requirements on a daily basis.

Possess above average computer skills and computer systems knowledge.

Ability to use computerized Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Must provide own set of small hand tools.

Education Required:
High School Diploma required.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 3+ years manufacturing maintenance electrician experience preferred, but not required.

Specific Skills Required:
PLC programming and troubleshooting experience a plus.

Knowledge/proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.

Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems. Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Experience working with equipment such as: hand tools; drills, saws; conduit equipment; amp probe, megohmmeter and other electrical equipment; computer for control in manufacturing plant and mill.

Manual and physical dexterity. Ability to stoop, climb and crawl in and over machines for repair purposes and the ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs. Must be comfortable working above the ground at times.

A sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production and minimizing down time is necessary in this type of manufacturing environment. Tasks performed involve work with equipment and materials that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and the following of these procedures in order to maintain the safety of the work environment.

Must have solid understanding of electrical safety (some NFPA70E and NEC experience preferred).

Positive attitude, willingness to learn new things, and team player attitude are key.

Licensed Electrician preferred, but not required.
